Coniferous Resort is situated in the heart of Sohra’ which is commonly known as Cherrapunjee, in its truest sense ‘Sohra’ the shade of clouds. Sohra has a rich historical heritage and was the first British outpost in the NorthEast. David Scott, the political agent of the East India Company came to the Khasi Hills in the 1820s and called it Cherra Station and made it the official headquarter of the British Raj in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills.

It is here that memorial stones were erected such as monoliths, bridges and stone seats, and an open ground on which Chiefs used, especially during religious and social celebrations.


কনফিরিয়াস রিসর্ট সোহরা’র হৃদয়ে অবস্থিত ’যা সাধারণত চেরাপুঞ্জি নামে পরিচিত, এর সত্যবাদী অর্থে‘ সোহরা ’মেঘের ছায়ায়। সোহরা ধনী এবং উত্তর-পূর্বের প্রথম ব্রিটিশ ফাঁড়ি। ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির পলিটিকাল এজেন্ট ডেভিড স্কট 1820-এর দশকে খাসি পাহাড়ে এসে চেরার স্টেশন নামে অভিহিত করেছিলেন এবং খাসি এবং জৈন্তিয়া পাহাড়গুলিকে ব্রিটিশ রাজের অফিসিয়াল সদর দফতর বানিয়েছিলেন।

शंकुधारी रिज़ॉर्ट सोहरा के केंद्र में स्थित है 'जिसे आमतौर पर चेरापूंजी के रूप में जाना जाता है, अपने सबसे बुरे अर्थ में' सोहरा 'बादलों की छाया। सोहरा के पास एक समृद्ध ऐतिहासिक विरासत है और नॉर्थईस्ट में पहली ब्रिटिश चौकी थी। ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के राजनीतिक एजेंट डेविड स्कॉट ने 1820 के दशक में खासी हिल्स में आकर इसे चेर्रा स्टेशन कहा और इसे खासी और जयंतिया हिल्स में ब्रिटिश राज का आधिकारिक मुख्यालय बनाया।
